Whisky & Poetry Salon

We trade you whisky for your words....

We are excited to announce Kai Japanese Roots presents  The Whisky & Poetry Salon w/ feature poet Chiwan Choi!  We will be celebrating the release of The Yellow House: Chiwan's 4th book of poetry; an excerpt of the book-length poem was published in The New York Times!

Our host/whisky expert Ben Davidson is proprietor (with brother Bobby Davidson) of Kai Japanese Roots; Ben also curated the impressive whisky selection.  He knows his whisky facts but we especially love the way Ben describes whisky: in petite character sketches as if the whiskies were people!  He's still creating the September 10 whisky list but you can look forward to unique  and deliciou pours!

***Please note our new day and time: SUNDAY AFTERNOON; 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. on September 10 in the upstairs dining room at the fabulous Kai Japanese Roots. The Salon will start with light bites from Executive Chef Miki Fujita***

***HOW IT WORKS:

You: bring a poem, original or not, to read in a candlelit circle of fellow aficionados.

We: pour fine whisky accompanied by education and history.

No mics, no bright lights, no need to memorize.  Brevity is welcome!

We can't wait to trade you whisky for your words....
