The Whisky & Poetry Salon celebrates Robbie Burns Night!
Tickets available HERE
18th century bard Robert "Robbie" Burns (a.k.a. the Ploughman Poet) is the national poet of Scotland and was recently voted "The Greatest Scot" of all time! Known for Auld Lang Syne, Address to a Haggis, and our personal fave Scotch Drink (!), the poet has been celebrated around the world on his January 25 birthday for over 200 years!
Of course, we will trade you whisky for your words...Burns poems encouraged!
Brand ambassador Joe McCluskey will be pouring award-winning Benromach Single Malt from the Speyside region as well as Douglas Laing's Timorous Beastie Scotch (a Highland blend with the Best. Label. Ever.) in a nod towards the Burns poem To A Mouse.
We'll read a few of the Bard of Ayrshire's iconic poems referenced above as well as "pipe in" the haggis (a delicious vegetarian version of the Burns Night staple courtesy of The Guardian) and enjoy all the Scottish delicacies we can round up!
The evening will unfold in a beautiful, historic home -- the perfect setting for a Burns Night -- in the Mt. Washington neighborhood in Northeast L.A. We are so grateful to our hosts Gwen and Andy for their generous hospitality. (Because it's a private home, the address will be send to ticket-holding guests the week of the Salon.)
Come drink poetry with us!
